Banking on awards

Awards

Why awards matter

A big bank can often act with impunity, but the smaller ones have to punch above their weight. At Thoburn’s, we’ve found that awards can be a useful tool in establishing credibility, especially for those brands that find themselves to be regarded as ‘a best kept secret’ by their loyal clients.

Awards are a great way to recognise not just the bank itself but the staff too who are often what makes the customer service worthwhile. We sit down with clients and help them navigate the complexities of awards entries and make sure they’re putting their best foot forward. The result is often a multiplier of the effort put in.

Creating your own platform

Entering awards is one thing, but creating a whole new awards scheme can be highly productive too. A few years back, Thoburns brought together the Financial Times and ArcelorMittal and the FT/ ArcelorMittal Boldness in Business Awards was born; It helped establish ArcelorMittal as both entrepreneurial and the world’s foremost steel producer. The awards ran successfully for 13 years.
